Adaption & Resilience Photography

Total Credit Hours:
2 Hours

This category focuses on the stories of people and animals adapting to the challenges of climate change. These images highlight the real-life strategies and efforts made to cope with shifting environments, emphasizing resilience and ingenuity. Here are some ideas:

Human Adaptation:

  • Communities building flood barriers or redesigning infrastructure to withstand extreme weather.
  • Farmers using innovative methods, such as drought-resistant crops or rainwater harvesting, to combat changes in weather patterns.
  • People creating sustainable energy solutions or modifying homes to adapt to rising sea levels.

Animal Adaptation:

  • Wildlife transitioning to new habitats as ecosystems change.
  • Animals adapting their behaviors to survive in altered climates, like finding new food sources or migration routes.
  • Conservation efforts helping species adjust, such as reforestation efforts or wildlife corridors.

Strength and Resourcefulness:

  • Images of people working together to overcome challenges, showing teamwork and creativity.
  • The determination of communities to rebuild and thrive despite the hardships posed by climate impacts, such as floods, fires, and drought.
  • Uplifting moments that inspire hope, such as restored habitats or successful adaptation projects.

This photography should try to capture the resilience and problem-solving required to adapt to climate change. It highlights how people and animals are finding innovative ways to continue thriving, ensuring the planet remains a place for all to live.

Instructions and Credits:

We are looking for all types of images that you believe will help us in our courses, blogs, and social media. Photos tell stories, give us glimpses of others’ lives and show us parts of the world we have never seen. Your photography will help us raise awareness about the environmental challenges that we all face in our communities.

We are looking for original photographs. You do not need any special equipment and you can take images with your phone. For every 10 images, you will get 1 hour of credit. If you believe it took you longer to take the 10 images, please let us know and we will review your images and adjust your time.

We accept a variety of content/subject matter as long as it pertains to our work. Do NOT send multiple JPEGs of the same photo, but you can take multiple shots of the same subject. For example, if you are taking pictures at a park, capturing different angles of someone picking up trash—showing the scenery, trash bag, and garbage—are all acceptable. However, if you take 10 similar photos of a person sitting at a desk, we will only be able to use one image.

Ready to start capturing images through a camera lens? Don’t worry if you’re a beginner – it’s all about trial and error and finding your unique style. Experiment with different angles, lighting, and subjects to discover what works for you. Your effort is all that is required, and once we verify your images, we will give you credit.

Photography Credit Form
